Blackpool SandAid

'We've Still Got Christmas' aiming for the Christmas No 1 and in the process, we're raising money for BBC CHILDREN IN NEED. In fact when the song is available for download on 5th December.....50p from every 79p download is going to the charity. LETS DO THIS!!!!! Why did we start this? Well, after listening to the X Factor Christmas Number 1 last year by Matt Cardle, we decided we had had enough of listening to a 'Non Christmas Song'...after all, where is the tradition that we had whilst growing up??? Why the title 'WE'VE STILL GOT CHRISTMAS' ? Well, it seems appropriate that taking into consideration the ever growing plight of children who are disadvantaged, the state of the UK financially, and the hundreds of soldiers tragically lost in war.....no matter what our circumstances are, Christmas is inevitable, it happens every year and we still celebrate it in the best way we can, whilst remembering those who are less fortunate than us. This is an emotive song and a song of hope, which we think will capture the nation if we can SHARE it out far enough!!!We know there are other campaigns out there, again using Facebook as a 'Traffic Magnet', but many of these people are promoting ordinary, every day songs, produced by bands who already have a huge fan base, and really don't need the publicity they are demanding!! I.e...Nirvana 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'.....yes, it's a great song, but in fairness, you can listen to that song any old day of the week, or go and see your local band and hear it played live!! We want to push forward a song which will be played at Christmas, to keep the tradition of a Christmas Number 1!! Do you want your kids to grow up saying 'I remember when Nirvana were Christmas Number 1? What the hell is that all about?? And do you really want to 'MOSH' at your works Christmas party? On the other hand 'We've Still Got Christmas' is an anthem that you can really dance to!!! Frank Sinatra didn't release 'New York New York' for people to 'Mosh' to, but we still all dance to it at the end of a party!!It's about time we had some 'Unsigned....Unknown.....Talent' at the top of the charts for a change!!! And not to line the pockets of some 'unscrupulous record producer', but to benefit a very worthy charity BBC Children In Need, helping so many children who have so little to look forward to, or are disabled or poorly. If you want a reminder of what you're helping to do, look at the Children in Need website http://www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey/How do I share the campaign with my friends? Just click on one of the many links on the Blackpool SandAid page and put a note on asking your friends to share also!!WHEN do I download the track? DOWNLOAD FROM ITUNES, AMAZON OR ANY REPUTABLE DOWNLOAD RETAILER FROM THE 5TH DECEMBER!!!!!The final chart is announced on Christmas day itself!!How does this affect X Factor??? This is NOT a personal attack on Simon Cowell, or X Factor....there are many members of our families who love X Factor as a show. Each to their own. And we respect your decision to choose. After all, the artists on X Factor were just as unknown as we are to the nation, but that doesn't stop people voting for them!! Of course X Factor does not support a Charity, so if you want to do something good this Christmas, it will only cost you 79p!!WE CAN'T BE NEGATIVE ABOUT WHETHER THIS SINGLE WILL FAIL.....IF WE ADOPT THAT ATTITUDE, WE MAY AS WELL CLOSE THIS CAMPAIGN DOWN AND GIVE UP!!! SO......GET SHARING, AND INVOLVE AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN!!!Right.....enough of this banter, how many of you on our page can count yourself in?? WE NEED YOU TO HELP US GET THIS SNOWBALLING ACROSS THE UK!!Thankyou for your help so far, now go and share share share!!!!!
